Snowdog has evolved into my dream of dreams - bringing smiles to the faces of kids and adults everywhere! Miles, my rescued Snowdog, and my husband and I make a great team. We are committed to making the world a better place one party at a time. We are also dedicated to making Snowdog as 'green' as possible. The truck is outfitted with a solar panel/hybrid controller, low-watt LED's, and a wind-powered, cold-plate freezer. We recycle all of our reduced-plastic water bottles, aluminum cans, and cardboard boxes. Snowdog is a member of GoLocal Houston and also the Houston Holistic Chamber of Commerce. The truck is a constant work-in-progress and we truly enjoy the labor of our 'sustainable' love.
We recently added a new truck to the team-a 1960 Ford Vanette. It's got a brand-new engine and soon will be branded with the Snowdog style. So this is the "before" picture. Check the BLOG for documentation of the SnowWolf's metamorphosis. It is available now if you prefer it to Snowdog. This truck will be pumping out Soft-Serve and our own creations by next summer!
Snowdog has been in both Glow-O-Rama events that the Art Car Parade folks organized with the city in 2010 and 2011. The highlight of my Snowdog life so far was hearing a massive crowd chant "I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!" Too cool! Ice cream has an exquisite way of socially energizing folks and Snowdog has a way of bringing the nostalgia back, and in full-on Technicolor!
